A New Beginning
Dear Readers,
Welcome to the first edition of Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia Co-operation Programme 2014-2020 Newsletter!
Having been a faithful companion of its predecessor programme throughout the Programme’s life cycle, the Programme Newsletter will continue to be one of the main communication tools in the 2014-2020 programming period, periodically sharing Programme related news with its beneficiaries, the media and the general public.
The first year of the programming period was mostly spent on the elaboration of the Co-operation Programme by the experts under the watchful eye of the Task Force, while the first half of 2015 was dedicated to smoothing over the last few open questions in the document and final preparation for its submission to the European Commission.
With the new Co-operation Programme now submitted for approval to the European Commission, we are pleased to be able to report on the first activities related to the implementation phase that the Programme is easing into.
Most of this year’s activities will focus on the setting up of the implementing structures in both Member States, including the Monitoring Committee, Joint Secretariat and the JS Contact Points, with several communication activities to closely follow all the major developments.
There are two important milestones planned for this year, the first of which has already been accomplished with the launch of the Programme Website in April. The second major event will be the Programme Opening Conference to be held in Čakovec, Croatia on 10 September 2015. The conference will be a good opportunity for one last look back at the accomplishments of the Hungary-Croatia (IPA) Cross-border Co-operation Programme 2007-2013, as well as a chance to find out more about what lies ahead in the new Co-operation Programme.
More on all these subjects in the Newsletter ahead.
