First Project: De-mine HUHR II
Within days of the adoption of the Programme, we are already happy to announce that the first strategic project of the Programme, De-mine HUHR II is in an advanced stage of preparation and will very soon be ready to start with implementation.
With the adoption of the Programme by the European Commission the formal conditions for the beginning of implementation of the Programme and the individual projects have been met, and the project to break the ice is going to be De-mine HUHR II.
The project has been included into the Co-operation Programme as a strategic project, recognised by the programming experts and by the members of the Task Force for its specific nature and overall contribution to the development of the cross-border region. The project is a continuation of the De-mine HUHR project, implemented within the second call for proposals of the HUHR CBC Programme 2007-2013, the biggest project of the whole Programme, becoming in many ways its flagship story.
The strong partnership built within the previous project will be maintained, with possible inclusion of other support organisations, and the preparations for the beginning of implementation are under way, with constant contact with and support from the Programme bodies. The project is expected to begin in January 2016.
The project was presented in detail at the Opening Conference of the Programme by the Lead Beneficiary, Croatian Mine Action Centre and the Hungarian project partner Baranya County Police Department; full presentation is available at the Conference website.
